Organizations Filed Purposes: OUR MISSION IS TO IMPROVE THE LIVES OF GEORGIANS THROUGH PUBLIC POLICIES THAT ENHANCE ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY AND FREEDOM. WE BELIEVE GOOD PUBLIC POLICY IS BASED UPON FACT, AN UNDERSTANDING OF SOUND ECONOMIC PRINCIPLES AND THE CORE PRINCIPLES OF OUR FREE ENTERPRISE SYSTEM- ECONOMIC FREEDOM, LIMITED GOVERNMENT, PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY, INDIVIDUAL INITIATIVE, RESPECT FOR PRIVATE PROPERTY AND THE RULE OF LAW.

OUR MISSION IS TO IMPROVE THE LIVES OF GEORGIANS THROUGH PUBLIC POLICIES THAT ENHANCE ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY AND FREEDOM.

EDUCATION: CONTINUED TO FOCUS ON PROVIDING ACCESS TO QUALITY EDUCATION FOR ALL STUDENTS. THE FOUNDATION SPENT A SEGMENT OF OUR LEGISLATIVE POLICY FORUM DISCUSSING CHARTER SCHOOLS AND PRIVATE CHOICE PROGRAMS, INCLUDING EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP ACCOUNTS. WE ALSO PUBLISHED AN ISSUE ANALYSIS ON "THE ECONOMICS OF BUILDING A VOUCHER OR ESA PROGRAM IN GEORGIA".

HEALTHCARE: CONTINUED TO PROMOTE PATIENT-CENTERED, MARKET-ORIENTED REFORM FOR HEALTHCARE. WE RAISED PUBLIC AWARENESS OF THE POLICY CHANGES POSSIBLE IF THE STATE WERE TO SEEK FEDERAL WAIVERS FROM THE PROVISIONS OF MEDICAID AND THE AFFORDABLE CARE ACT. A SEGMENT OF OUR LEGISLATIVE POLICY FORUM FOCUSED ON THE WAIVER PLANS CHOSEN BY THE STATE.

REGULATORY REFORM: WE HIGHLIGHTED THE NEED FOR REDUCING REGULATORY BURDENS ON GEORGIA'S SMALL BUSINESSES TO ALLOW ENTREPRENEURS TO FLOURISH AND CREATE JOBS. AT OUR LEGISLATIVE POLICY FORUM AND A SEPARATE EVENT IN SAVANNAH, WE EXAMINED RECOMMENDATIONS BY THE GEORGIANS FIRST COMMISSION TO EASE OCCUPATIONAL LICENSING REQUIREMENTS.
