TO ALLOW BUSINESS, RESEARCH UNIVERSITIES AND STATE GOVERNMENT TO COLLABORATE TO BUILD A TECHNOLOGY-DRIVEN ECONOMY FUELED BY INNOVATIVE UNIVERSITY RESEARCH.

GRA HELPS ATTRACT THE WORLD'S PRE-EMINENT SCIENTISTS TO LEAD EXTRAORDINARY PROGRAMS OF RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT AT AFFILIATED GEORGIA RESEARCH UNIVERSITIES. THESE PROGRAMS OFTEN LEAD TO NEW DISCOVERIES IN SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY.

GRA SUPPORTS NEW COMPANIES THAT BRING PRODUCTS AND TECHNOLOGIES TO MARKET BY INVESTING IN THE UNIVERSITY TECHNOLOGY NEEDED TO ADVANCE THE COMPANY'S INVENTION IN THE EARLIEST STAGES. GRA VENTURES IS GRA'S SIGNATURE TECHNOLOGY COMMERCIALIZATION PROGRAM. LAUNCHED IN 2002, GRA VENTURES HELPS BUILD HIGH-GROWTH COMPANIES AROUND LABORATORY DISCOVERIES AT GRA'S PARTNER UNIVERSITIES. GRA VENTURES SEEKS OUT UNIVERSITY-BASED RESEARCH INNOVATIONS, EVALUATES THEIR COMMERCIAL POTENTIAL AND PROVIDES RESOURCES TO ADDRESS THE MANAGEMENT, MARKET AND TECHNOLOGY RISKS THAT COME WITH NEW VENTURES.

GRA ACQUIRED THE GEORGIA CANCER COALITION ON JANUARY 31, 2012. OVER THE PAST DECADE, THE GEORGIA CANCER COALITION HAS SPARKED DISCOVERY THROUGH ITS DISTINGUISHED CANCER CLINICIANS AND SCIENTISTS; PROMOTED CANCER PREVENTION AND EDUCATION THROUGH SIX REGIONAL COALITIONS; EXPANDED ACCESS TO CANCER CLINICAL TRIALS THROUGH ITS PARTNER ENTERPRISE, GEORGIA CORE; AND COORDINATED DEVELOPMENT OF A STATEWIDE TISSUE AND TUMOR BANK. AS A GRA INITIATIVE, THE PROGRAM WILL CONTINUE TO ADDRESS SOME OF THE MOST PRESSING ISSUES PERTAINING TO CANCER PREVENTION, TREATMENT AND RESEARCH UNTIL ALL FUNDS ARE AWARDED. THE FINAL CANCER AGREEMENT EXPIRED ON 6-30-16.
