Organizations Filed Purposes:
THE ORGANIZATION IS COMMITTED TO THE CULTIVATION OF RESOURCES TO ASSIST THE CITY OF ATLANTA IN THE PRESERVATION, RESTORATION AND BEAUTIFICATION OF GRANT PARK, AND TO PROMOTE ITS EDUCATIONAL, CULTURAL AND HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE.
THE ORGANIZATION MAINTAINS GRANT PARK IN CONJUCTION WITH THE CITY OF ATLANTA, AND SPONSORS WORK DAYS IN THE PARK. WORK DAYS ARE AN OPPORTUNITY TO EDUCATE, BUILD SUPPORT FOR THE PARK, AND MAKE AN ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT. ACTIVITIES INCLUDE PAINTING, INSTALLING FENCING, PLANTING, MULCHING, PRUNING, WEEDING, AND GENERAL CLEANUP. EACH YEAR, OVER 1,500 VOLUNTEERS FROM DIVERSE GROUPS COMPRISED OF BUSINESS PEOPLE, STUDENTS, AND PROFESSIONALS DONATED THEIR TIME TO MAINTINAING THE PARK. IN ADDITION, THE CONSERVANCY SPONSORS SPECIFIC CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS TO IMPROVE THE PUBLIC FACILITIES AND STRUCTURES IN THE PARK.
THE CONSERVANCY HOSTS FUNDRAISING EVENTS TO BRING THE PUBLIC INTO THE PARK, INCLUDING THE SUMMER SHADE FESTIVAL, A TWO DAY FUNDRAISING EVENT, AND A SPRING GALA EVENT WHICH OFFERS THE COMMUNITY A POSITIVE WELL-PLANNED FAMILY EVENT, INTRODUCES THE PARK TO FIRST TIME VISITORS, BUILDS AWARENESS OF THE PARK AND THE CONSERVANCY, AND RAISES FUNDS TO SUPPORT THE CONSERVANCY'S WORK.
THE ORGANIZATION OFFERS CONSULTATIONS, AS PARK AMBASSADORS, TO GROUPS AND BUSINESSES THAT WANT TO UTILIZE THE PARK AND ITS FACILITIES FOR LARGE GATHERINGS, CHARITY EVENTS, AND FESTIVALS. THE ORGANIZATION ADVISES ON LOGISTICS, STRATEGIES, AND MINIMIZING THE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ON THE PARK. THE ORGANZATION'S WEBSITE INCLUDES INFORMATION ABOUT GRANT PARK, A SCHEDULE OF PARK EVENTS, PHOTOS OF AVAILABLE SITES, AND LINKS TO ONLINE APPLICATIONS.
