Organizations Filed Purposes: Kirkwood Neighbors Organization exist to encourage and advocated for high quality of life for all current and future residents of Kirkwood, regardless of race, age, sex, religion, sexual orientation or economic status. We do tis through strengthening our community, performing acts of service and championing those of us who are most vulnerable.

The Corporation is organized exclusively for charitable, educational and/or scientific purposes under section 501c3 of the Interanl Revenue Code

Program description Kirkwood Cares Committee exists to fight displacement in our neighborhood by providing critical housing repair support to low-income Kirkwood senior and diabled residents. We primarily accomplish this through meeting neighbors, understanding their repair needs, hiring licensed insured contractors to make the repairs often at reduced rates and fundraising to cover the costs of the repairs

Kirkwood Dog Park development was completed in 2019 through a joint effor of the Kirkwood Neighbors Organization and the Kirkwood Business Owners Assocation. The off-leash dog park opended on November 15, 2019 and is run by volunteers and neighbots.

Environmental Committee recruits and organizes volunteers to maintain and improve more than 65 acres of parks and publicly owned greenspaces in Kirkwood inclusing four conventional parks, two forest preserves, three community gardens, and a historical cemetery originating in pioneer days. Volunteers provide 2,000 to 3,000 hours annually for activities such as trash removal, tire removal, tree planting, stream clearing, removing invasive plants and spreading wood chips.
