Organizations Filed Purposes: NBAF's mission is to expose, educate, engage and entertain audiences as we present and support art and artists of African descent.

NBAF is a 30-year, multi-disciplinary arts organization with a history of stellar artistic and educational programming in music, dance, film, theater, visual and literary arts. The organization has evolved from a seasonal festival to year round programming showcasing artists of African descent who create, innovate and produce extraordinary work. NBAF presents year round artistic programming offered at free and/or reduced rates for youth and adults including performances, master classes, multi-media presentations, theater productions, film screenings, workshops and exhibits.

NBAF's Move/Dance(M/D) Program brings arts education and physical activity in select middle schools in underserved areas. The programs promote educational enrichment by teaching the rich history of Black dance, dancers, choreographers who paved the way. The program also encourages the students to improve their presentation skills and culminates in a final dance performance.

NBAF NextGen Artist(NGA) Program nurtures the dreams and artistic talents of select high school students in underserved areas who are emerging artists. This program exposes students to possible career fields in film/media, visual arts and fashion design by exposing them to arts professionals and partnering them with teaching artists in each arts discipline to create a final performance, showcase or documentary. NGA Rising Star students are offered scholarships to attend arts immersion programs at SCAD Atlanta.
