Organizations Filed Purposes: The Cherokee County Historical Society is dedicated to historic preservation and education.

Curated three temporary Museum Exhibits. The first was about Lee Roy Abernathy, a Cherokee gospel singer installed in the Hall of Fame. The second was about the Canton Cotton Mills and their influence on the community, and the final one displayed Cherokee Countys rich archaeological history.

Presented public history programs on the forgotten CCC Camps in Cherokee County, the history of Sardis Baptist Church, and a gospel concert of the music of Lee Roy Abernathy.

Began preserving the Johnston Family Collection. This archive collection contains over 1,000 items from the Johnston Family in Woodstock, showcasing 100 years of history in the county.
