CVEM is a non-profit outreach and social justice ministry in partnership with the Episcopal parishes of the Chattahoochee Valley and of the Episcopal Diocese of Atlanta
Direct Service provides assistance funds for families and individuals in crisis and/or living in poverty. Payments are made on behalf of clients for the following areas of need: housing and basic houshold items, medical, transportation, education and employment, utilities. We dedicate time and and effort to help clients problem-solve and connect them with additional available resources such as food, clothing, job readiness training. All residents in the Chattahoochee Vally Regions, both in Georgia and Alabama, are eligible for services based on need.
The Thompson-Pound Art program (TAP) is a 25 year old annual event in the Columbus area, serving children ages 6-11. This interfaith arts program recruits 60 children from the diversity present in the area; it teaches tolerance and appreciation for the ways in which people are different and celebrates our individual and collective gifts and abilities. Two dozen teen-agers serve as interns/mentors for the children and more than 40 adult volunteers, representing more than a dozen faith traditions staff the program.
Infusion is a youth leadership program which engages a diverse group of up to 12 students from 8th through 12th grade grade in various activities in social justice and community engagement, spiritual reflection, and servant leadership development.
