Organizations Filed Purposes:
The Mission of Police Who Care Inc. is to support the officers and staff of the Covington Police Department in their mission to provide professional police services to the citizens of Covington. Philanthropic in nature the Police Who Care Inc. exist to raise money to provide funds for worthwhile causes, to support community projects, and to provide financial aid and/or assistance to Covington Police Department employees, to support and enhance the delivery of police service and community outreach, and to provide assistance other citizens and organizations with legitimate needs or emergencies.
Annually, the fund contributes to the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life, Special Olympics, YMCA, Project Renewal, Miracle League, and Shop with a Cop, just to name a few. In addition, the fund makes a $1,000 contribution to the beneficiaries of every Georgia law enforcement officer who dies in the line of duty. The PWC also helps City of Covington employees when disaster strikes them. Furthermore, the fund has established an Employee Assistance Matrix which allows officers the opportunity to provide financial assistance to members of the public that are in need of assistance.
