Organizations Filed Purposes:
THE ORGANIZATION'S MISSION IS TO ACCEPT DONATIONS FROM THE GENERAL PUBLIC AND USE SUCH DONATIONS TO ASSIST GEORGIA RESIDENTS WITH THEIR TUITION COSTS IN ATTENDING NONPUBLIC PRE-KINDERGARTEN, PRIMARY AND SECONDARY SCHOOLS OF THEIR CHOICE IN ACCORDANCE WITH GEORGIA LAW.
GEORGIA STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP ORGANIZATION (SSO), INC. IS A STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP ORGANIZATION AS SET FORTH IN O.C.G.A. SECTION 20-2A-1. THE ORGANIZATION'S MISSION IS TO RECEIVE CONTRIBUTIONS FROM THE GENERAL PUBLIC AND TO OBLIGATE FROM 92% TO 96% OF SUCH CONTRIBUTIONS FOR SCHOLARSHIPS AND TUITION GRANTS TO ELIGIBLE STUDENTS IN NONPUBLIC PRE-KINDERGARTEN, PRIMARY OR SECONDARY SCHOOLS IN THE STATE OF GEORGIA WITHOUT LIMITING AVAILABILITY TO STUDENTS OF ONE SCHOOL.
THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDES SCHOLARSHIPS AND TUITION GRANTS TO ELIGIBLE STUDENTS IN NONPUBLIC PRE-KINDERGARTEN, PRIMARY, AND SECONDARY SCHOOLS IN THE STATE OF GEORGIA. DURING 2019, THE ORGANIZATION AWARDED 1,658 SCHOLARSHIPS AND TUITION GRANTS TO ELIGIBLE STUDENTS ATTENDING 93 DIFFERENT NONPUBLIC PRE-KINDERGARTEN, PRIMARY, AND SECONDARY SCHOOLS.
THE ORGANIZATION HAD UNUSED AND RETURNED PRIOR SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS TOTALING $14,250 DURING 2019. THESE AMOUNTS WERE RECORDED AS ORGANIZATION INCOME AND WILL BE FULLY RE-AWARDED TO NEW SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS.
