SUMMER RESIDENTIAL LEADERSHIP PROGRAMS THIS FLAGSHIP PROGRAM OF 21ST CENTURY LEADERS, INC. IS A LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM FOR HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH COMPRISED OF THREE ONE-WEEK RESIDENTIAL LEADERSHIP INSTITUTES ON COLLEGE CAMPUSES, WORKING WITH DIVERSE PEERS AND BUSINESS PROFESSIONALS. IN 2020, DUE TO COVID-19, WE HAD TO HOST OUR RESIDENTIAL SUMMER INSTITUTES VIRTUALLY. HOWEVER, DURING THE SUMMER INSTITUTES WE SERVED 284 STUDENTS LED BY 210 BUSINESS AND PROFESSIONAL VOLUNTEERS AND OVER 70 HOURS OF LIVE CONTACT WITH STUDENTS. WE ALSO LAUNCHED A FOURTH SUMMER INSTITUTE FOCUSED ON HEALTHCARE & IT INDUSTRY SERVING 30% MORE STUDENTS IN 2020. (SEE ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON SCHEDULE 0)
SCHOOL-YEAR PROGRAMS 21ST CENTURY LEADERS PROVIDES A NUMBER OF EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES THROUGHOUT THE SCHOOL YEAR. WE SERVED 551 STUDENTS THROUGH OUR ONLINE LEARNING PLATFORM, LEADERSHIP CONNECT, WHICH IS A 50% INCREASE OVER LAST YEAR. WE DELIVERED OVER 100 MODULES OF GAMIFIED CONTENT OVER LAST YEAR. WE DELIVERED OVER 100 MODULES OF GAMIFIED CONTENT IN SEVEN CORE LEADERSHIP COMPETENCIES WITHIN LEADERSHIP CONNECT. WE ALSO SERVED OVER 220 STUDENTS THROUGH OUR SCHOOL-BASED CLUBS IN 12 HIGH SCHOOLS ACROSS THE STATE. (SEE ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON SCHEDULE O)
HOMEWORK CENTERS OUR HOMEWORK CENTER PROGRAM ESTABLISHED AFTER-SCHOOL TUTORING AND ACADEMIC ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS IN GEORGIA TITLE 1 ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS FOR UP TO FOUR YEARS AT EACH SCHOOL. IN THE 2019-2020 SCHOOL YEAR THE PROGRAM SERVED 290 STUDENTS IN NINE SCHOOLS WITHIN SIX SCHOOL DISTRICTS FOR AROUND 800 CONTACT HOURS. DUE TO COVID-19, THE HOMEWORK CENTERS ENDED EARLIER THAN NORMAL ONCE SCHOOLS SWITCHED TO 100% VIRTUAL LEARNING. HOWEVER, 96% OF PARENTS REPORTED THAT THEIR HOMEWORK CENTER PROVIDES THEIR CHILD THE ADDITIONAL ATTENTION AND SUPPORT NEEDED TO COMPLETE HIS/HER HOMEWORK, WHILE ALSO BEING A VALUABLE RESOURCE TO THEIR SCHOOL.
