THE MISSION OF THE DECATUR EDUCATION FOUNDATION IS TO HARNESS COMMUNITY RESOURCES TO PROVIDE EDUCATIONAL AND ENRICHMENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR ALL DECATUR YOUTH.
The mission of the Decatur Education Foundation is to solve the problems that keep Decatur's kids from finding success by connecting people, resources, and ideas. Central to this work is a commitment to eradicating barriers caused by systemic racism, income inequality, and the lack of behavioral health supports.THE ORGANIZATION SERVES THE YOUTH OF DECATUR BY:- removing obstacles that impede learning for our kids (poverty, learning differences, abilities, mental health, life challenges) so that all our kids can find success in school and life- providing opportunities that accelerate and deepen learning and empower Decaturs kids to make a positive contribution on our world (arts, leadership, service)- supporting teachers and educational programs to ensure that our kids have engaging, meaningful classroom experiences - strengthening community programs to extend our capacity to provide great experiences for Decaturs kidsbecause with the support of their community, every child can reach their full potential
