Organizations Filed Purposes:
To end the cycle of youth homelessness. We do this, every day, in cities across America. We carry out our mission through our volunteers who go to the streets in order to find, stabilize and otherwise help homeless and street kids improve their lives by providing and connecting them with life-saving services.
In the United States, over 1.7 million youth experience homelessness every year. Over fifty thousand youth sleep on the streets for six months or more each year. At least thirteen youth die on the streets each day. To assist homeless and at-risk youth, StandUp for Kids' provides services through our (4) core services; Street Outreach, Housing Support, Outreach/Drop-In Centers and Mentoring Programs. These services provide them with comfort items (food, clothing, hygiene products, etc.); vital information regarding available resources to meet their needs; housing; and advocacy and other resources to assist in alleviating the problem of youth homelessness and prepare them for self-sufficiency. During 2019, StandUp for Kids provided over 54,000 instances of support nationwide preparing them for self-sufficiency.
