More than 200 adults and children received these services in 2017. Specially trained forensic interviewers talk with children who disclose sexual abuse or molestation in custom interview rooms at the request of law enforcement or DFCS (Dept of Family and Childrens Services).
24/7 crisis line response, victim advocacy and legal servicesSpecially trained advocates provide personal and family crisis intervention assistance; case management and resource referrals; emotional support to victim and non-offending family members. Advocacy services exceeded 1,665 in 2017. Victim assistance attorney aids victims with Ga Crime Victims Compensation applications and appeals and civil legal issues that arise as a result of the crime. Legal advocacy services totaled 930 in 2017.
Prevention education, community awareness and professional SANE and law enforcement trainingConducted 55 trainings and workshops on how to prevent, recognize and react to child sexual abuse; advocacy and crisis response training for volunteer advocates, SANEs, CASA workers, law enforcement; Sexual Assault Response Team training. Provided sexual assault prevention education for 1,000 college and high school students.
