TO PROVIDE A NURTURING ENVIRONMENT FOR WOMEN AND CHILDRENSEEKING RECOVERY SUPPORT SERVICES FOR TRAUMA, MENTALILLNESS OR SUBSTANCE ABUSE. COMBINING INDIVIDUALIZED CAREAND A COMPASSIONATE TRAUMA-RESPONSIVE COMMUNITY, THE CALUMET CENTER FOR HEALING AND ATTACHMENT ADVOCATES FORHOPE, NEW POSSIBILITIES, AND THE ENDURING SPIRIT OFFAITH AND FAMILY.
The Calumet Center for Healing and Attachment serves the LaGrange, Georgia area, and provides a 3 to 12-month residential program designed to provide therapy and support services for women in recovery from substance abuse or trauma. We operate a ten-bed facility with 24-hour supervision and children are encouraged to live with their mothers if possible. We currently staff 3 advocates, case manager, counseling interns, therapist, and administrative staff. Our facility is funded through private donations and grants. After 30-days or after securing employment, residents contribute 10% of their net pay to assist with program fees. All women move through a three-phase treatment program, following a highly individualized service plan. We offer extensive case management and therapy options including: eye movement desensitization and reprocessing therapy (EMDR), family therapy, individual therapy, life skills group, parenting group, attachment therapy, play therapy, relapse prevention education, peer support, spiritual care, job support services, transportation, nutrition classes and financial literacy education. After graduation, outreach therapy and case management services are provided to make the transition to independent living as seamless as possible.
