GOOD VOCATIONS, IN CONJUNCTION WITH SOURCEAMERICA (FORMERLY NISH) AND THE ABILITYONE PROGRAM HAVE BEEN WORKING TOGETHER TO GIVE A BETTER QUALITY OF LIFE BY PROVIDING INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES ACCESS TO EMPLOYMENT THROUGH TRAINING AND PLACEMENT INTO MEANINGFUL JOBS VIA CONTRACTS AT ROBINS AIR FORCE BASE AND FORT GORDON. IN 2019 THE PROGRAM PROVIDED 229,526 JOB TRAINING HOURS TO GOOD VOCATIONS EMPLOYEES AND CLIENTS. IN 2019, GOOD VOCATIONS' COMMISSARY WORKERS STOCKED OVER 1 MILLION CASES OF GROCERIES AND CUSTODIAL WORKERS CLEANED OVER 1.56 BILLION SQUARE FEET. EVERY DAY GOOD VOCATIONS EMPLOYEES GIVE THEIR BEST TO TAKE CARE OF THOSE WHO SERVE OUR COUNTRY.
TO SERVE INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES AND OTHER SPECIAL NEEDS BY PROVIDING REHABILITATION SERVICES, TRAINING, EMPLOYMENT AND CAREER DEVELOPMENT SERVICES.
AT THE CORE OF THE GOOD VOCATIONS MISSION IS THE BELIEF THAT WORK AND THE DIGNITY OF A PAYCHECK PROVIDE THE FIRST STEPS TOWARD ACHIEVING THE AMERICAN DREAM. IN PURSUIT OF THAT MISSION, GOOD VOCATIONS, IN CONJUNCTION WITH SOURCEAMERICA (FORMERLY NISH) AND THE ABILITYONE PROGRAM, PROVIDES INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES ACCESS TO EMPLOYMENT THROUGH TRAINING AND PLACEMENT INTO MEANINGFUL JOBS VIA CONTRACTS AT ROBINS AIR FORCE BASE (RAFB) IN WARNER ROBINS, GA., AND FORT GORDON IN AUGUSTA, GA. MORE THAN 75 PERCENT OF THE DIRECT LABOR HOURS WORKED ON THESE FEDERAL CONTRACTS ARE PERFORMED BY INDIVIDUALS WITH MODERATE TO SEVERE DISABILITIES.IN 2019 THIS PROGRAM PROVIDED 229,526 JOB-TRAINING HOURS TO GOOD VOCATIONS EMPLOYEES AND CLIENTS. THROUGH TWO GOOD VOCATIONS COMMISSARY CONTRACTS AT RAFB AND FORT GORDON, WORKERS STOCKED MORE THAN 1 MILLION CASES OF GROCERIES. THE RAFB CONTRACT, FIRST SIGNED IN 1980, WAS THE FIRST OF ITS KIND IN THE UNITED STATES; THE FORT GORDON CONTRACT HAS BEEN IN PLACE SINCE 1995.ADDITIONALLY, GOOD VOCATIONS CUSTODIAL SERVICE EMPLOYEES, WHO ARE CERTIFIED BY THE CLEANING MANAGEMENT INSTITUTE, ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR CLEANING MORE THAN 1.56 BILLION SQUARE FEET OF SPACE PER YEAR AT RAFB AND FORT GORDON.
