We match under-resourced, high-potential youth with community mentors and provide collegial experiences to encourage and support students to maximize their leadership and their personal, academic, and future success.
MFL is organized to mentor seventh through twelfth grade students in Marietta City Schools a system in which two-thirds of the students live in poverty. The goal is that every MFL student graduates prepared for the path to achieve their life goals and become leaders in their community.
Each student is matched with a community mentor who encourages, motivates and provides experiences within the community to expand student horizons and promote high school graduation and college and career entry. Educational enrichment group activities are provided for approximately 100 students.
