GASOPHE is a statewide health education organization of professionals, students and partners. They advance excellence in health education through research translation and professional development.
GASOPHE prioritizes health issues and areas of concern each year and partners with organizations to impact policy and programs throughout the state. Some local issues they have participated in include: Tobacco prevention and control, Cover GA - health insurance, Diabetes prevention, Cancer prevention, HIV/AIDS/Sexual health, School health, Obesity prevention, Worksite wellness, Mental health and wellness. The goal of the training was to educate and inform community members on resouces to advocate for Medicaid expansion in Georgia.
