Growing Leaders is a global nonprofit that encourages and equips young adults to take on real-life opportunities and challenges in the classroom, in their careers, and in the community. They do this by partnering with organizations to teach practical life and leadership skills through a research-based process that uses intriguing images, fascinating stories and engaging experiences that are relatable and memorable. The organization's unique understanding of how to engage and connect with the next generation allows them to help sutdents to better prepare themselves for life after graduation to learn that leading others at any level begins with learning how to lead yourself.
The Mission of Growing Leaders is to inspire ordinary students to grow into values-oriented leaders
Growing Leaders provided 200 training events for approximately 35,426 people across the United States during fiscal year 2019. The majority of the events were for adults who teach, coach, or mentor young people to equip them to better connect with the emerging generation. These training events prepared adults to teach character, leadership and soft skills to increase the emotional intelligence and career readiness of students. Other events were offered directly to students to inspire and motivate them to fulfill their potential and take on real life opportunities and challenges. It is estimated that the material and content of these events reached 13,965 people in fiscal year 2020.
Growing Leaders provided digital character, leadership and soft skills training resources for students from 664 schools, sports teams, or other organizations working with young people. The primary curriculum is called "Habitudes: Images that form Leadership Habits and Attitudes and it uses the power of images, conversations and experiences to teach important life skills in a way that students today want to learn. The resources are provided in both print and digital formats. It is estimated that the resources were shared with approximately 109,424 students in fiscal year 2020.
Growing Leaders created a new book entitled "Generation Z Unfiltered" to teach adults how to teach and connect with Generation Z. In addition, Dr. Tim Elmore, the Founder and CEO of Growing Leaders, wrote a blog three times a week to provide free content to help readers better engage and connect with the emerging generation. The blog is read by 170,000+ people who subscribe to Growing Leaders' social media channels.
