THE PRINTING AND IMAGING ASSOCIATION OF GEORGIA (PIAG) SUPPORTS ITS MEMBERSHIP THROUGH EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMING, INDUSTRY ADVOCACY, BUYING POWER SOURCES AND NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES. PIAG PROVIDES LOCAL PROGRAM DELIVERY AND NATIONAL RESOURCES AS AN AFFILIATE OF PRINTING INDUSTRIES OF AMERICA (PIA), THE WORLD'S LARGEST GRAPHIC ARTS TRADE ASSOCIATION.PIAG EXISTS TO EDUCATE THE PUBLIC ABOUT THE IMPORTANCE OF PRINT, TO ACT AS A CATALYST FOR GROWTH OF THE PRINTING AND IMAGING INDUSTRY, AND TO STRENGTHEN AND SUPPORT ITS MEMBERS THROUGH VALUABLE EDUCATIONAL AND BUSINESS RESOURCES.
THE ORGANIZATION PROMOTES THE WELFARE OF THE PRINTING INDUSTRY AND THE ALLIED TRADES.
THE ASSOCIATION CONTINUED TO PRODUCE THE ANNUAL IMPRESS SHOWCASE AND PRINT CELEBRATION EVENT. THE SHOWCASE IS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AND ATTRACTED APPROXIMATELY 250 ATTENDEES TO SEE FEATURED COMPANIES REPRESENTING THE PRINTING INDUSTRY WHICH INCLUDED PRINTERS, EQUIPMENT MANUFACTURERS, PAPER AND INK SUPPLIERS, SOFTWARE DEVELOPERS, GRAPHIC DESIGN SCHOOLS AND OTHER INDUSTRY PARTNERS. SHOWCASE ATTENDEES WERE PRINTING COMPANY OWNERS AND EXECUTIVES AS WELL AS INDUSTRY SUPPLIERS AND STUDENTS ATTENDING SCHOOLS WITH GRAPHIC COMMUNICATION PROGRAMS. THE PRINT CELEBRATION DINNER FOLLOWED THE SHOWCASE WITH AN ADDITIONAL 225 IN ATTENDANCE TO RECOGNIZE THE WINNERS OF THE PRIN EXCELLENCE COMPETITION, AS WELL AS, THE 2015 BENJAMIN FRANKLIN AWARD.
THE PIAG PRINT EXCELLENCE COMPETITION ENGAGES MEMBERS OF THE ASSOCIATION AS WELL AS SCHOOLS WITH GRAPHIC COMMUNICATION CURRICULUMS TO ENTER THEIR BEST PRINTED WORK. APPROXIMATELY 430 ENTRIES WERE SUBMITTED TO BE SELECTED BY AN INDEPENDENT PANEL OF JUDGES BROUGHT TO PIAG SPECIFICALLY FOR THIS COMPETITION. BEST OF CATEGORY PRINT COMPETITION WINNERS ARE SENT TO PRINTING INDUSTRIES OF AMERICA FOR ENTRIES TO THE NATIONAL COMPETITION.
