Organizations Filed Purposes:
To champion public awareness of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and challenges confronting our countrys heroes and rally support for shelter animal adoption by connecting heroes and companions.
The Organization's mission was significantly impacted due to the COVID-19 pandemic.The Organization provided a vast number of educational materials to the public. The materials educate the public and make the public more aware of post-traumatic stress disorder and other challenges that the country's heroes face. The Organization provided trained dogs who give comfort and emotional support to heroes (active-duty military personnel, military veterans, and first-responders) who are coping with psychological trauma. The companion dog program offers (1) full reimbursement of adoption fees if the dog was not adopted prior to applying for our services, (2) cost-free training with the hero and the dog which is either certified to obtain the American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen Certification or to the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, (3) a personalized care package (4) a minimum of six scheduled check-ins while in the program, (5) processing of the hero's request for a service dog, to include identification of the hero's needs and the determination of the appropriateness of the request.
