SEEKING TO PUT GOD'S LOVE INTO ACTION, HABITAT FOR HUMANITY BRINGS PEOPLE TOGETHER TO BUILD HOMES, COMMUNITIES, AND HOPE.
Habitat for Humanity-DeKalb believes in a world where everyone deserves a decent place to live. We help families achieve this through our Homeownership program and through our Senior Home Repair program. Our Homeownership program allows low-to-moderate income families to buy a newly built or renovated home. Families must fall within 30%-60% of the local median income to qualify for a zero-equivalent or low-interest mortgage. Families in our program must complete 250 sweat equity hours, where they are volunteering on their home, along with others homes. Our Senior Home Repair program works with seniors and veterans aged 65 and above on preserving their home. Qualified families can receive interior or exterior repairs on their homes, allowing them to age in place gracefully. We collaborate with many organizations in and around the community and utilize volunteers, donors, and skilled labor to eliminate substandard housing in DeKalb County, Georgia.
