Organizations Filed Purposes:
FY2019-2020 accomplishments include meeting strategic objectives in fiscal, governance and human resource areas. Fiscally, we completed our upgrade to Abila-MIP Cloud Financial Accounting System in June-July 2019, ensuring our continued capability from a technological perspective to track and budget revenues, grants, and expenses. In August, we implemented new day care tuition rates to reflect new facility costs and enhanced services. In September, we hired a Development Coordinator and implemented donor relationship management software to streamline and expand on our fund raising, event planning and outreach into the community. In October, we brought on a former restaurant owner and chef with residential care kitchen operations experience to begin in-house meal service six days a week. In November, we held the first East Hawaii Caring for Caregivers Conference, which sold out and was an overwhelming success in terms of working with community partners and reaching out to new caregivers in our community
In February we held a strategic planning session with board and staff to review our mission and collaboratively define our vision and goals for the next 1-2 years. However, we closed our doors on March 18, 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic and did not reopen until July. Our board decided that, while staff was furloughed indefinitely, that we would maintain health insurance benefits and coverage for all staff as long as possible. In April we applied for and received CARES Act PPP funding, which allowed us to continue health benefits through the fiscal year, and pay all employees despite remaining closed for operations.
