TO REDUCE AND PREVENT DRUG ABUSE IN HAWAII THROUGH AWARENESS, EDUCATION, AND ACTION.
Coalition for a drug-free Hawaii's (CDFH) youth development and youth leadership has been a cornerstone of CDFH programs since its inception. CDFH believes that effective programs for developing youth resilience and competence in all areas of health and wellness provide resources for learning and personal growth, positive relationships with caring adults, and opportunities for youth and adults to partner in meaningful action. The youth programs are as follows: TeenLink Hawaii, Lei `Ilima Girls Program, Girls Circle, Second Step Hawaii, Wahiawa Youth Connect, IMSOHI Above the Influence, and school-based counseling.
Coalition for a drug-free Hawaiis (CDFH) family strengthening services work to prevent drug abuse and its effects on children and their families by providing a foundation based on values, knowledge, and skills to strengthen the entire family within a cultural context. Family programs work toward improving family cohesion, family life skills in parents and children, and family order and organization. The family programs are as follows: Strengthening Hawaii Families (SHF), SHF Workshop Series, SHF Family Nights, Family Intervention & Training Services.
Coalition for a drug-free Hawaiis (CDFH) information and Public Awareness houses the Hawaii Prevention Resource Center (HIPRC) which maintains the states most comprehensive resources on drug abuse, prevention, and related issues available through its lending library, resource clearinghouse, and technical assistance services. The HIPRC is open to the general public and provides consultation and technical assistance for service providers, school personnel and others regarding resources, training, information, and available services.
