Aquatic safety and swimming skill education services: Provide aquatic safety and swimming skill classes to elementary school aged students during and after school hours. Provide service to all students regardless of their social, economic, and physical conditions.
Aquatic safety education curriculum development: Research, design, and development of an aquatic safety education curricula which integrate with established K-12 health and physical education programs. Development of classroom and pool lesson plans that include both cognitive and physical skills for aquatic injury and drowning prevention. Development of age/grade level standards, rubrics, and assessments. Development of instructor training programs and online resources.
Portable pool development: Research and design of a portable pool system for use at schools where community pools are not available or accessible. Development will continue in 2020 and 2021.
