Organizations Filed Purposes: To enhance communities through economic development, conservation, preservation, and education to our youth and adults.

USDA Community food Program Ohana Agriculture Resilience (OAR) Education and mentorship with intergenerational family members using 10 households. Each family consisted of no less than 2 persons and average 4 per family. Ages 5 yrs to 60+. We encourage all family members to participate in field crop exeriences on the aina. Each family is taught in methods of Natural Farming and organic growing crop production at our Hoea NF Learning Lab. Adults work alongside children on assigned 100 ft. rows of vegetable crop of their choice. Year long program with incentive of receiving choice of Aquaponic system, NF swine pen, chicken tractor or raised vegetable bed to be placed at their home for program development of a "Backyard Revolution". Animal production education also in breeding, maintenance, and construction of NF "no smell, no flies" deep litter system using microbes to control pen odors and pig health. They learn and able to handle pigs being raised in this method on the farm. Part of the education includes also slaughter of the animal and processing pork for home protein, making value-added products of kalua, laulau, (traditional Hawaiian foods) or cuts for the freezer. Chickens construct pens for moving on the ground and choice of layers or meat birds. Aquaponic raising crops in system and fish in recirculation water system from fish tank to vegetable bed.

Hauoli Mau Loa Foundation Ho'okahua Ai (HA) mentorship program. Education and hands on technical mentorship on all aspects of Agriculture related program. Students ages 13 to 20. Currently 8 are in active students in final year of this program (last 5 years). Students are mentored by trained adult mentors in areas of crop production, animal husbandry, and natural farming methodologies. Each student have been in the program at least 2-5 years and have gone through education in crop production of land prep, equipment operation, small tools for maintenance, irrigation systems, making seedlings, planting, weed maintenance, harvesting and GAP processing. Animal husbandry in handling cattle in low stress methods of open grass fed pastures, pigs in breeding pens using deep litter system of natural farming sprays for "no smell, no flies" results. Pigs are bred with boar and or AI Artificial insemination, learn to process new litters, meds, and ID process. Pigs are raised with USDA certified cooked home garbage, composting additives NF and grain fed. all natural farming inputs (fertilizer additives) are mixed on the farm for use in all areas of crop and animal production. Individual students have constructed pens, water systems and perimeter fencing for ungulate control, constructed chicken tractor, aquaponic system, and raised garden beds to place and maintain in their homes. This mentorship also ties in business entrepreneurship in crop and animal production. Americorp member is former student, 2 high school students are enrolled in Ag college.

Kamehameha Schools Community resource funds. Funds support Americorp member in KUPU program for year long full-time and program support for mentorship of students in HA and Ulu Hou programs. these funds support working with Kohala High School students in the Environmental resources academy and HA mentorship program. Training students in agriculture careers, business entrepreneur endeavors in crop and animal production and leadership in community service. All students in our program are learning experience hands-on my making natural farming inputs to be used in soil. as feed, and animal pens for microbal control. They learn process methods of animal slaughter, food cuts, culinary experiences and community service, preparing meals for those in need. They are taught public speaking presentations to public that requests farm visits (at least one monthly) and trained in presentations for building and construction of chicken tractor, aquaponic system, and pig pens. They are also trained in all aspects of crop production, fencing, placement of gates, feeding troughs, irrigation systems and recirculation aquaponic system. Funds are also used for expansion of additional farm site called KAPA Kohala Agriculture Processing Area planned for certified IMU, swine breeding pens, extended crop production, and a community gathering facility for eduction, farmer's market, community events and a DOH Certified kitchen. A vegetable processing area for receiving crops from local farmers and work with SNAP and Farm to school program.
