Organizations Filed Purposes:
Mission: To improve the conditions under which people live, learn, and work.
Head Start: 266 slots were available in 2019, with a total of 381 children enrolled during the year, including 43 with disabilities. 113 children went on to kindergarten; 96% were up to date with preventative and primary health care; 88% were up to date with all immunizations; and 87% completed a dental exam. The program utilized 620 volunteers, of whom 607 were current or former Head Start parents.In addition, 5 parent involvement activities were held and multiple parent trainings took place on important topics like food, safety, and child abuse prevention.
Energy Assistance: 1,593 households in our 6-county area received energy assistance, benefiting 2,963 people. 437 households were served through education workshops, 200 energy kits were distributed, and 8 air conditioning units were distributed.
Housing: Provides housing assistance to low-income individuals and families based on federal guidelines. 260 households in Dearborn, Ohio, Ripley, Switzerland, Franklin, and Union Counties received housing choice vouchers in 2019, benefitting 464 people.
