Organizations Filed Purposes:
The Organization works to save, restore and preserve historic buildings in Monroe County, Indiana.
In 2019, BRI acquired a dilapidated early-20th century commercial building, the Hays Market Building in Sanders, Indiana, and sold it to a couple who agreed to restore it, which they did by the end of the year. BRI protected and preserved the Hinkle-Garton Farmstead, restoring the music room in the main farmhouse and replacing the roof on the second farmhouse. We held a public event in February to raise awareness of historical preservation.
