Organizations Filed Purposes: MCHA IS DEDICATED TO PROMOTING THE WELFARE OF ANIMALS, STRENGTHENING THE HUMAN-ANIMAL BOND, AND PROVIDING ACCESS TO VETERINARY CARE AND HUMANE EDUCATION ACROSS OUR COMMUNITY.

MCHA IS A DIRECT SERVICE PROVIDER FOR ACCESSIBLE VETERINARY SERVICES, ANIMAL CARE RESOURCES, HUMANE EDUCATION, AND A LEADING ANIMAL WELFARE ADVOCATE FOR OUR COMMUNITY. THROUGH THE NONPROFIT VETERINARY CLINIC, MCHA PROVIDED DIRECT VETERINARY SERVICES TO MORE THAN 2,600 PATIENTS SEEKING CARE FOR WELLNESS, INJURY AND SURGERY SERVICES. THROUGH MOBILE CLINICS, MCHA PROVIDED WELLNESS SERVICES OFF-SITE IN UNDERSERVICED COMMUNITIES TO 270 PATIENTS. IN 2019, MCHA ISSUED 248 SPAY-NEUTER ASSISTANCE VOUCHERS TO OFFSET THE DIRECT COSTS OF SPAY NEUTER PROCEDURE WITH A LOCAL VETERINARY PARTNER.

THROUGH 2019, MCHA FACILITATED AND PARTICIPATED IN MORE THAN 40 FUNDRAISING AND OUTREACH EVENTS OR COORDINATED HUMANE EDUCATION PROGRAMS. TO SUPPORT EDUCATION PROGRAMMING, MCHA HOUSES A ROSTER OF ANIMAL AMBASSADORS, NEW IN 2019 IS AN IGUANA, OTHER ANIMAL AMBASSADORS INCLUDE TWO CORN SNAKES, ONE BEARDED DRAGON, ONE FRENCH LOPP RABBIT, TWO DOMESTIC RATS, AND TWO BETA FISH. FOCUSED ON CHILDREN'S PROGRAMMING AND HUMANE EDUCATION, MCHA FACILITATES YOUTH PROGRAMS, AND MONTHLY AFTERSCHOOL CLUB MEETINGS. PART OF OUR OUTREACH NETWORK INCLUDES PET-HUMAN VOLUNTEER TEAMS THAT PARTICIPATE AND PROVIDE IN ANIMAL ASSISTED THERAPY CALLED VIPAWS.

THROUGH THE NONPROFIT VETERINARY CLINIC AND OUTREACH CENTER, MCHA FACILITATED A PET FOOD PANTRY AND EMERGENCY HOUSING PROGRAM. THROUGH A NETWORK OF VOLUNTEERS AND A FOSTER PROGRAM, MCHA COORDINATED EMERGENCY HOUSING FOR 49 ANIMALS DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER, HOMELESSNESS, DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND OTHER EMERGENT REASONS THAT LEFT FAMILIES HOMELESS. THE FOOD PANTRY PROVIDES PET FOOD AND OTHER SUPPLIES TO PET OWNERS IN MONROE COUNTY. PANTRY CLIENTS MUST SHOW PROOF THAT PETS ARE SPAYED/NEUTERED, VACCINATED AND LIVING IN MONROE COUNTY. IN 2019, MCHA DISTRIBUTED MORE THAN 13,300LBS OF DRY DOG AND CAT FOOD, AND AN ADDITIONAL 130LBS IN CAT LITTER, 2,400 CANS OF WET DOG AND CAT FOOD, AND DOG AND CAT TREATS.
