To preserve the City's green spaces, create a lasting legacy for the citizens of Fort Wayne and Allen County and provide free and affordable leisure opportunities for all ages.
In the year 2020, our organization intended to begin substantial fundraising for the proposed refurbishment of Franke Park by undertaking a campaign to raise $3,000,000 as a lead gift to a new pavilion in the proposed renovation. However, the advent of COVID severely curtailed not only the fundraiser but also most semblances of normal procedures. We did continue to have bimonthly board meetings, albeit with a few by remote access, but undertook no significant actions. We do hope to return to normal operations by the middle of 2021. Our Promenade Park Pavilion continued to enjoy media attention and citizen attendance despite COVID restrictions. We look forward to a robust 2021.
