To promote the acquisition, restoration, and enjoyment of wetlands and other natural areas in the Wabash/Limberlost/Loblolly watershed associated with the works of Indiana author Gene Stratton-Porter
In 2019 The Friends of the Limberlost collected donations and memberships to help Limberlost State Historice Site pay restoration expenses, event expenses, office supplies, advertising, site maintenance and yard and garden expenses.
The Friends of the Limberlost help the Indiana Department of Natural Resources Division of Nature Preserve purchase, restore, and maintain Limberlost wetlands.
