IN ADDITION, ADOPTIONS OF INDIANA'S PROFESSIONAL STAFF PROVIDE EXPERT ADOPTION EDUCATION AT LOCAL AND STATEWIDE CONFERENCES.BI-MONTHLY INFORMATIONAL/RECRUITMENT MEETINGS FOR PROSPECTIVE ADOPTIVE PARENTS WERE CONDUCTED IN 2019. WE ASSISTED FAMILIES IN DETERMINING IF ADOPTION IS RIGHT FOR THEIR FAMILY AND WHAT TYPE OF ADOPTION IS THE RIGHT FITPUBLIC OR PRIVATE ADOPTION, DOMESTIC INFANT, TRANSRACIAL ADOPTION, SPECIAL NEEDS ADOPTION OR INTERNATIONAL ADOPTION. IN CLASSROOM ADOPTION EDUCATION IS A REQUIRED ELEMENT OF ADOPTIONS OF INDIANA'S HOME STUDY PROCESS. THIS BUILDS DEEPER LEARNING AND COMMUNITY. ALL OF THIS IS DONE WITH A CHILD-CENTERED APPROACH TEACHING THEM TO ALWAYS LOOK TO WHAT IS IN THE BEST INTEREST OF THE CHILD. ADOPTIONS OF INDIANA OFFERS POST-ADOPTION EDUCATION, COUNSELING AND SUPPORT SERVICES TO ADOPTIVE PARENTS AND ADOPTEES ON A VARIETY OF ADOPTION RELATED TOPICS AND ISSUES.ADOPTIONS OF INDIANA PRACTICES OPEN ADOPTION WHERE BIRTH AND ADOPTIVE FAMILIES HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO MAINTAIN DIRECT CONTACT WITH ONE ANOTHER.
