Catholic Charities Terre Haute is a comprehensive, direct services agency whose purpose is to serve the poor, the homeless, the elderly, the neglected children and the needy.

Ryves Youth Center at Etling Hall served 842 youth in activities such as sports, scouting, preschool, Kids Cafe', tutoring, reading and backpack distribution. Ryves Youth Center offers crisis intervention, free meals, cooking and food service training, preschool, tutoring, Scouts, organized sports, music program, financial counseling and computer training in our computer lab. Breakfast and lunch are served to the preschool for homeless and at-risk children and an evening meal is served to the regular latch-key children. All of our meals and programs are at no charge.
The Bethany House shelter provides temporary shelter for single women, married couples and families, case management, referrals and skills development serving 45 adults and 15 children. The Clothes Closet provided gently used clothing and small household items to over 7,000 people.
The Christmas Store provided new gifts to 484 low-income families. Additional items such as furniture and kitchen items are provided to low-income families, victims of fires or home invasions and families transitioning from a shelter to a home or apartment.
