Organizations Filed Purposes: The Indiana Soybean Alliance proactively works to improve the viability of Indiana soybean farmers and industry partners.

TO CARRY OUT THE SOYBEAN PROMOTION, RESEARCH, CONSUMER INFORMATION (SPARC) ACT AND ORDER, PASSED BY THE UNITED STATES CONGRESS AS A QUALIFIED STATE SOYBEAN BOARD (QSSB) FOR THE STATE OF INDIANA AND TO SERVE THE ORGANIZATION'S MEMBERS ON POLICY ISSUES AND REPRESENTING ALL INDIANA SOYBEAN FARMERS WITH PROMOTIONAL, EDUCATIONAL AND RESEARCH ACTIVITIES.

Livestock and Aquaculture Program - conducts projects to grow the Indiana livestock and aquaculture industries and users of soybean meal. In fiscal year 2019, this program focused on the following activities: education, livestock export expansion, and business expansion for both livestock and aquaculture. Production and Environment Program - supports on-farm demonstration programs and university-led research projects to develop tools and information to help soybean growers maximize their farm's performance. The production programs and projects focus on enhancing yields through fertilizer management, controlling pests and diseases, and exploring new traits. Environmental projects focus on sustainability efforts and nutrient issues. In fiscal year 2019, this program targeted activities such as Infield Advantage, Field to Market, North Central Soybean Research Program, university-led research, nutrient reduction strategy development, mapping and water quality and quantity efforts. New Uses Program - conducts projects in partnership with academia, scientists and industries to commercialize emerging technologies, provide funding for new concepts, and develop alternative markets and uses for Indiana soybeans. In fiscal year 2019, this program targeted the following activities: Concrete Sealer, Soy Detergent Builders, Student Innovation Competition, and soy-based drinking straws. Communications and Marketing Program - conducts projects to establish the organization as a leading resource about soybeans to further the interests of soybean farmers and to support the work of all programs. IN addition, communications programs help educate consumers about modern agriculture and soybeans. In fiscal year 2019, this program focused on the following activities: farmer outreach, First purchaser outreach, media outreach, and promotion of checkoff programs through sponsorships of field days, paid advertising, and magazine articles. Marketing is focused on external communications and is involved in crafting messaging, determining the target audience, brand development, and the implementation of tactical plans. Education and Training Program - conducts projects to establish the organization as a leading resource about soybeans to further the interests of soybean farmers. In fiscal year 2019, this program focused on K-12 education programs, state fair, and partner youth organization such as FFA and 4-H. Grain Marketing Program - conducts projects to maintain existing and develop new domestic and export markets for soybeans and soybean products in order to ensure the long-term viability of Indiana soybean farmers. In fiscal year 2019, this program focused on the following areas: transportation infrastructure including roads, bridges, and waterways, domestic market development, increased production for High Oleic soybean production in Indiana, farmer education/risk management, soybean meal quality analysis, and international market development. Organization and Board Management - conducts board meetings, leadership development and program management and support to all programs and board of directors. Public Affairs - conducts projects and research educating the public and stakeholders on issues important to the soy industry and ISA strategic plan. In fiscal year 2019, this program targeted activities such as global trade, education around the importance of the Farm Bill, the economic benefits of agriculture to Indiana and building partnerships across the state. Biodiesel Program: conducts projects to increase the availability and use of soy biodiesel. In fiscal year 2019, this program focused on the following areas: biodiesel support through education materials and programs including the expansion of biodiesel offerings available to consumers in Indiana. SPARC Administration - ensures compliance with the SPARC Act and Order and the governance of the Indiana Soybean Alliance. This program also processes all collections from first purchasers in Indiana and is responsible for auditing of those first purchasers. Legacy Programs - support efforts to maintain exhibits and videos in the Glass Barn at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. In addition, there is funding to support a research project for new uses of soybeans at Purdue University.
