Organizations Filed Purposes: AN INDIANAPOLIS-BASED NONPROFIT, NONPARTISAN PUBLIC POLICY RESEARCH ORGANIZATION OR "THINK TANK." IT IS OUR MISSION TO RESEARCH AND ANALYZE DIFFICULT ISSUES AND TO CONNECT THE BEST IDEAS WITH LEADERS WHO CAN TRANSFORM THEM INTO SMARTER POLICY AND IMPROVED PRACTICE.

IN 2011, THE ORGANIZATION RECEIVED APPROVAL FROM THE INDIANA DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION TO BECOME A SCHOLARSHIP GRANTING ORGANIZATION AND ADMINISTER THE INDIANA SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIP TAX CREDIT PROGRAM. THE ORGANIZATION BRANDED THEIR PROGRAM "SCHOLARSHIPS FOR EDUCATION CHOICE AND PROVIDES SCHOLARSHIPS TO STUDENTS IN GRADES K-12 FROM QUALIFYING HOUSEHOLDS WHO ARE ENROLLED IN ELIGIBLE PRIVATE SCHOOLS. TO RAISE THE FUNDS NECESSARY TO AWARD THE SCHOLARSHIPS, THE ORGANIZATION IS ABLE TO OFFER INDIVIDUAL AND BUSINESS DONORS A STATE TAX CREDIT EQUAL TO FIFTY PERCENT (50%) OF THE AMOUNT DONATED. SINCE THE PROGRAM'S BEGINNING AT THE ORGANIZATION, THE ACADEMIC YEARS OF OPERATIONS JULY 2011 JUNE 2020, "SCHOLARSHIPS FOR EDUCATION CHOICE" AWARDED APPROXIMATELY $36.7 MILLION TO OVER 8,000 INDIANA STUDENTS. THE ADMINISTRATIVE FEE INCOME VS. SCHOLARSHIP INCOME PERCENTAGE WAS 5.62% AND 6.03% IN 2019 AND 2018, RESPECTIVELY. THE ORGANIZATION MEETS THE STATUTORY REQUIREMENTS AS STATED IN IC 20-51-3-3 SEC 3(3) AND DOES NOT USE MORE THAN TEN PERCENT OF THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF SCHOLARSHIP CONTRIBUTIONS FOR ADMINISTRATIVE COSTS.

STATE OF DEFENSE - CONTRACTED BY THE STATE OF INDIANA TO EVALUATE AND PROMOTE INDIANA'S DEFENSE INDUSTRY, THE ORGANIZATION CONSTRUCTED ASTATEOFDEFENSE.COM. THE ORGANIZATION PRODUCED A VERSION OF AMERICAN OUTLOOKTHE ORGANIZATION'S MAGAZINEREGARDING INDIANA'S DEFENSE INDUSTRY AND CONTINUES TO HOLD EVENTS REGARDING THIS TOPIC.

EDUCATION REFORM - AS AMERICA'S EDUCATION SYSTEM DECLINES, THE ORGANIZATION HAS BEEN IN PARTNERSHIP WITH UNIVERSITIES, SCHOOLS, CITIZENS AND POLICYMAKERS TO UNCOVER INNOVATION AND SPOTLIGHT BEST PRACTICES TO REMEDY THE DEFICIENCY IN AMERICA'S SCHOOL SYSTEM. THE ORGANIZATION BELIEVES THAT THE ANSWERS TO AMERICA'S EDUCATION CRISIS STARTS WHEN WE BEGIN EQUIPPING SCHOOL LEADERSTEACHERS, PRINCIPALS, AND ADMINISTRATORSTO RISE TO A NEW LEVEL OF PROFESSIONAL EXCELLENCE. THE NATIONAL CONVERSATIONS SERIES HAS ELEVATED THIS CRITICAL DIALOGUE TO A NATIONAL LEVEL. THE ORGANIZATION IS ALSO CONVINCED THAT ULTIMATE REFORM TO AMERICA'S EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM CAN ONLY HAPPEN WHEN WE CREATE BETTER OPPORTUNITIES FOR EVERY STUDENT. THE ORGANIZATION IS PROVIDING CRITICAL SUPPORT TO SCHOOLS THAT ARE SERVING HIGH NEEDS STUDENTS AND THAT ARE FROM AT-RISK ENVIRONMENTS.
