Organizations Filed Purposes:
TO PROMOTE A VIBRANT, SUSTAINABLE ECONOMY IN GRANT COUNTY THAT ATTRACTS AND EMPOWERS BUSINESS GROWTH AND INNOVATION.
THE GROWTH COUNCIL RECOGNIZED 52 LOCAL BUSINESSES FOR THEIR INVESTMENT IN NEW CAPITAL INVESTMENTS IN GRANT COUNTY AT THE ANNUAL 2020 INVESTORS RECOGNITION. IN RESPONSE TO THE PANDEMIC THE GROWTH COUNCIL HOSTED WEEKLY TELECONFERENCE INVOLVING MAJOR EMPLOYERS, MARION GENERAL HOSPITAL AND THE GRANT COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT. THE CALLS FOCUSED ON SHARING BEST PRACTICES FOR EMPLOYEE SAFETY AS WELL AS SHARING PERSONAL PROTECTION EQUIPMENT. THE GROWTH COUNCIL MODIFIED THE REVOLVING LOAN FUND TO PROVIDE LOANS TO SMALLER BUSINESSES IMPACTED BY THE PANDEMIC, IN ALL 15 LOANS WERE MADE. THE GROWTH COUNCIL WORKED WITH THE CITY OF MARION AND OTHER LOCAL PARTNERS TO APPLY FOR THE DNR'S NEXT LEVEL TRAILS GRANT. THE FEATURED PROJECT WAS TO CONNECT THE CARDINAL GREENWAY TO THE MISSISSINEWA RIVER WALKWAY. THE GROWTH COUNCIL GRANT FOR GRADS PROGRAM CONTINUES TO BE A TOOL FOR LOCAL BUSINESSES AS THEY SEEK TO ATTRACT NEW TALENT. A COLLABORATION OF IVY TECH MARION, MARION GRANT COUNTY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND THE GROWTH COUNCIL SECURED GRANT COUNTY'S DESIGNATION AS PART OF THE 21ST CENTURY EAST CENTRAL INDIANA TALENT REGION. THE GROWTH COUNCIL COLLABORATED WITH WORK ONE, MARION PUBLIC LIBRARY, THE MARION-GRANT COUNTY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE, AND GAS CITY AREA CHAMBER TO ESTABLISH A MONTHLY COMMUNITY JOB FAIR IN WHICH EMPLOYERS CONNECT WITH JOB SEEKERS. IN 2020 THE GROWTH COUNCIL EXPANDED THIS EFFORT THROUGH THE INTRODUCTION OF ADS AND JOB APPLICATIONS IN SPANISH. AS WELL AS CONTINUE TO COLLABORATE WITH LOCAL EMPLOYERS IS IDENTIFY NEW RECRUITMENT TOOLS.
