Organizations Filed Purposes: THE YMCA OF GRANT COUNTY HAS ADOPTED AS ITS MISSION TO PUT CHRISTIAN PRINCIPLES INTO PRACTICE THROUGH PROGRAMS THAT BUILD HEALTHY SPIRIT, MIND AND BODY FOR ALL.

YOUTH DEVELOPMENT - THE YMCA IS A LEADER IN NURTURING THE POTENTIAL OF EVERY CHILD AND TEEN. EVERY DAY, THE YMCA HELPS YOUNG PEOPLE DEEPEN POSITIVE VALUES, THEIR COMMITMENT TO SERVICE, AND THEIR MOTIVATION TO LEARN. OUR YMCA PROGRAMS, SUCH AS LIVE Y'ERS, SUMMER DAY CAMPS, SPORTS CAMPS, YOUTH SPORTS, BITTY INSTRUCTION, YOUTH LEADERSHIP AND HOLIDAY PROGRAMS PROVIDES HIGH QUALITY COMPPREHENSIVE ACTIVITIES FOR SCHOOL AGE CHILDREN DRAWING ON DIVERSE MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITY. WE PROVIDE SUMMER FULL-TIME AND YEAR ROUND PART-TIME OPTIONS TO SERVICE A WIDE RANGE OF FAMILY SCHEDULING NEEDS. WOVEN INTO THE FABRIC OF THE YMCA MISSION IS A COMMITMENT OF STRENGTHENING FAMILIES. YMCA YOUTH PROGRAMS RELIEVE THE BURDEN OF BALANCING WORK AND FAMILY THAT MAKE IT POSSIBLE FOR PARENTS OF CHILDREN IN OUR CARE TO REMAIN GAINFULLY EMPLOYED, KNOWING THAT THEIR CHILDREN ARE THRIVING IN A SAFE DEVELOPMENTALLY SOUND ENVIRONMENT. THE YMCA PROVIDES TUITION ASSISTANCE FOR YOUTH SERVICES. WE ALSO PROVIDE A VARIETY OF ACTIVITIES THAT EMPHASIZE PARENT EDUCATION AND HELP PARENTS LEARN MORE ABOUT HOW TO RAISE HEALTHY, HAPPY CHILDREN WHO DEVELOP SELF-ESTEEM AND MORAL AND ETHICAL VALUES.

HEALTHY LIVING - YMCAS FOCUS ON HEALTHY LIVING BY ADVOCATING HEALTH AND WELL-BEING FROM THE INSIDE OUT - THE SPIRIT MIND AND BODY. THE YMCA PROVIDES NEARLY 6,000 PEOPLE WITH THE SUPPORTIVE RELATIONSHIPS AND ENVIRONMENTS THEY NEED FOR THEIR SUCCESSFUL PURSUIT OF HEALTH AND WELL-BEING. THIS IS PARTICULARY IMPORTANT AS OUR NATION STRUGGLES WITH AN OBESITY CRISIS, FAMILIES STRUGGLE WITH WORK/LIFE BALANCE AND INDIVIDUALS SEARCH FOR PERSONAL FULFILLMENT. WE BRING FAMILIES TOGETHER, AND OFFER SPORT, RECREATIONAL AND SOCIAL NETWORKS THAT BUILD RELATIONSHIPS AND STRENGTHEN BONDS. OUR PROGRAMS ARE ACCESSIBLE, AFFORDABLE AND OPEN TO ALL FAITHS, BACKGROUNDS, ABILITIES AND INCOME LEVELS. VARIOUS ATHLETIC AND SOCIAL PROGRAMS - HELPING PEOPLE OF ALL AGES AND ABILIITIES DEVELOP HEALTH IN SPIRIT, MIND AND BODY IS AT THE CORE OF THE YMCA MOVEMENT. OUR PROGRAMS ARE DESIGNED TO HELP PEOPLE CREATE REALISTIC GOALS FOR SELF-IMPROVEMENT AND EMPHASIZE DISEASE PREVENTION THROUGH REGULAR EXCERCISE, PROPER NUTRITION, STRESS MANAGEMENT, AND HEALTH EDUCATION. WE HAVE AQUATIC PROGRAMS THAT KEEP SENIORS ACTIVE AND FLEXIBLE AS WELL AS OTHER WATER SAFETY AND AQUATIC PROGRAMS TO HELP DEVELOP PHYSICAL SKILLS IN ADULTS AND CHILDREN. WE ALSO HAVE PROGRAMS THAT HELP TO DEVELOP VALUES FOR DAILY LIVING; DEVELOP MORAL AND ETHICAL BEHAVIOR BASED ON JUDEO-CHRISTIAN PRINCIPLES; APPRECIATE DIVERSITY; RESPECT PEOPLE OF DIFFERENT AGES, ABILITIES, INCOMES, RACES, RELIGIONS, CULTURES, AND BELIEFS; BECOME LEADERS AND SUPPORTERS; LEARN THE GIVE AND TAKE NECESSARY TO WORK TOWARD THE COMMON GOOD; DEVELOP SPECIFIC SKILLS; ACQUIRE NEW KNOWLEDGE AND WAY TO GROW IN SPIRIT, MIND AND BODY.
