In 2020, we made 4 trips to Liberia, Africa to continue working building the Hope Center, to build relationships and to provide training and educational programs. There were 59 people who were able to participate in these trips. The focus of the trips was to work on the hope centers, to help our missionary families get settled for their stays, visit local orphanages, the leper colony and the prison in Ganta, help install solar water pumps, conduct spiritual training for our staff and adults in our circles, celebrate our new roof being installed and continue to help cast a vision of hope and healing into the hearts of whoever will listen.
One of our main purposes is to provide safe drinking water. This year with Covid, our travel was limited and we were not able to pass out as many of the personal water purification systems like we usually would, but we were able to do this on the first and last trips of the year. These personal systems can provide safe drinking water to an entire family for their lifetime. We installed a larger water system at a prison in Ganta with a goal of being able to provide them with a solar pump that will help pump the water to the prison more effectively. We were able to send funds to Uganda, Africa to sponsor the digging of a well and the installation of solar water pumps to an orphanage. The individuals benefiting from all this is countless.
We are in the process of developing Hope Centers in different communities to provide a central location for a training center, church, community center and water distribution. Construction continued on our Hope Center near Marshall, Liberia. The communities around this and our other hope centers will benefit greatly by having a central source of growth and hope.
