Habitat brings people together to build homes, community and hope. We build strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter. Our vision is a world where everyone has a decent place to live.
Housing and Aging in Place. In 2019, we accomplished the following 32 projects: 1. Finished 7 new homes at the Fields at Highlands and started work on 4 other homes. 2. Worked on 5 new homes in South Bend at Shetterley Triangle 3. Worked on 2 major rehabs- Thomas St. and Miner St. 4. Completed 12 Aging in Place projects 5. Completed 2 critical home repairs for veterans Additionally, we- 6. Closed on 10 homes occupied by Habitat families 7. Sold 2 homes on the open market (1022 Demaude and 1015 Woodward), with the proceeds used to support our mission. 8. Helped Porter County walk-through the closing process on 2 homes
The Organization operated four "ReStores", nonprofit home improvement stores and donations centers that sell new and gently used furniture, home accessories, building materials, and appliances to the public at a fraction of the retail price. All proceeds are used to further the Organization's mission.
