EQHEALTH SOLUTIONS IS MEDICARE'S QUALITY IMPROVEMENT ORGANIZATION (QIO) FOR THE STATE OF LOUISIANA. THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDES HEALTH CARE QUALITY IMPROVEMENT SERVICES THROUGH PROVIDER EDUCATION AND DATA ANALYSIS. EQHEALTH SOLUTIONS WORKS WITH NURSING HOMES, HOME HEALTH AGENCIES, HOSPITALS AND PHYSICANS IN ORDER TO IMPROVE THE DELIVERY, QUALITY AND COST EFFECTIVENESS OF HEALTH CARE FOR MEDICARE BENEFICIARIES. ACHIEVEMENT GOALS ARE SET BY THE CENTERS FOR MEDICARE AND MEDICAID SERVICES (CMS) AND PERIODICALLY MEASURED THROUGH VARIOUS CONTRACT PERFORMANCE INDICATORS AND MEDICAL CLAIMS DATA.
TO PROVIDE HEALTH MANAGEMENT SERVICES TO STATE MEDICAID AGENCIES. THESE SERVICES INCLUDE INPATIENT PRE-CERTIFICATION, QUALITY ASSURANCE AND UTILIZATION REVIEW OF MEDICAL SERVICES RENDERED TO STATE MEDICAID BENEFICIARIES. THE ORGANIZATION DETERMINES IF MEDICAL SERVICES MEET PROFESSIONALLY RECOGNIZED STANDARDS OF HEALTHCARE QUALITY, ARE MEDICALLY NECESSARY, AND ARE DELIVERED IN THE MOST APPROPRIATE, COST-EFFECTIVE MANNER. THE ORGANIZATION REGULARLY ACHIEVES SIGNIFICANT COST SAVINGS FOR THE STATES' MEDICAID PROGRAMS.
THE SENIOR MEDICARE PATROL FEDERAL GRANTS ARE THROUGH THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH & HUMAN SERVICES - ADMINISTRATION FOR COMMUNITY LIVING. OUR GRANTS TEAM WORKS TO EDUCATE MEDICARE BENEFICIARIES, THEIR FAMILIES, AND CAREGIVERS AND TO EMPOWER MEDICARE BENEFICIARIES THROUGH INCREASED AWARENESS AND UNDERSTANDING OF HEALTH CARE PROGRAMS TO PROTECT THEM FROM THE ECONOMIC AND HEALTH-RELATED CONSEQUENCES ASSOCIATED WITH MEDICARE FRAUD, ERRORS, AND ABUSE.
