(FOUNDATION) GIVES AN AWARD TO A PRO-LIFER WHO HAS MADE A LONG-TERM COMMITMENT IN DEFENDING THE RIGHTS OF THE UNBORN. - NOTE: TOTAL INCOME FOR THE 2019 PPL AWARD DINNER WAS $34,200; HOWEVER, THE FOUNDATION USES THE MODIFIED CASH BASIS FOR ITS ACCOUNTING METHOD. FOR THE 2019 PPL AWARD DINNER, $29,300 OF THE FEE INCOME WAS RECEIVED DURING 2018. THEREFORE, IT WAS REPORTED AS INCOME IN 2018.
- PROMOTION OF PRO-LIFE EDUCATION: THROUGHOUT 2019, THE FOUNDATION PARTICIPATED OR SUPPORTED IN SEVERAL ACTIVITIES TO INCREASE KNOWLEDGE AND AWARENESS OF PRO-LIFE ISSUES, INCLUDING: 1) ADOPTION PROMOTION: DURING NOVEMBER, NATIONAL ADOPTION MONTH, THE FOUNDATION PARTICIPATED IN AN EFFORT TO SHARE THE BEAUTY OF ADOPTION THROUGH BILLBOARDS PLACED IN THE HEART OF THE NEW ORLEANS' DOWNTOWN BUSINESS DISTRICT. THE BILLBOARDS' MESSAGE WAS THAT "ADOPTION IS A LOVING OPTION FOR YOU AND YOUR BABY!" 90% OF ADOPTEES AGE 5 AND UP HAVE POSITIVE FEELING ABOUT THEIR ADOPTION, PER THE U.S. DEPT. OF HUMAN HEALTH SERVICES. ALSO, THE FOUNDATION LAUNCHED THE "OPTION HOPE" INITIATIVE TO EDUCATE STUDENTS IN THE JEFFERSON PARISH (COUNTY)SCHOOLS ABOUT THE LIFE-GIVING OPTION OF ADOPTION; 2) "PREAUX LIFE" PROMOTIONS: THE FOUNDATION DISTRIBUTED "PREAUX LIFE' BUMPER STICKERS AND MAGNETS TO MORE THAN 2,000 CHURCHGOERS IN THE NEW ORLEANS AREA; 3) COORDINATED THE 3RD ANNUAL "POO DAT DIAPER" DRIVE - CONTRIBUTING THOUSANDS OF DONATED DIAPERS TO ACCESS PREGNANCY CENTER'S NOLA DIAPER BANK; 4) PROVIDED PRO-LIFE EDUCATION INFO AT THE LA. STATE FAIR; 5) PARTICIPATED IN THE ANNUAL ORATORY AND POSTER/VIDEO CONTESTS; AND 6) SUPPORTED OTHER PRO-LIFE EDUCATION EFFORTS AT THE HIGH SCHOOL AND COLLEGE LEVELS.
- 40 DAYS FOR LIFE (40 DFL): THIS IS AN ANNUAL PRO-LIFE EFFORT HELD THROUGHOUT THE U.S. AND OUTSIDE ABORTION CENTERS IN THE HOPE THAT PREGNANT WOMEN WILL CHOOSE LIFE FOR THEIR BABIES. FOUNDATION VOLUNTEERS STOOD VIGIL IN PRAYER OUTSIDE THE "WOMEN'S HEALTH CENTER" ABORTION FACILITY IN NEW ORLEANS. THE 2019 CAMPAIGN SAW MORE VOLUNTEERS THAN IN PREVIOUS YEARS FOLLOWING SCREENINGS ACROSS LOUISIANA OF THE FILM, UNPLANNED, AND A VISIT FROM 40 DAYS FOR LIFE PRESIDENT, SHAWN CARNEY. NATIONALLY, 742 BABIES WERE SAVED FROM THE VIOLENCE OF ABORTION AND FIVE (5) CLINIC WORKERS HAVE LEFT THE ABORTION INDUSTRY.
