COASTAL COMMUNITIES CONSULTING, INC. (CCC) IS A 501(C)(3) NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION SERVING SOUTHEAST LOUISIANA'S COASTAL ENTREPRENEURS AND THEIR FAMILIES THROUGH TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE, ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, SOCIAL SUPPORT SERVICES, AND CONTINUED DISASTER ASSISTANCE. OUR MISSION IS TO SECURE COASTAL COMMUNITIES' RESILIENCE BY DEVELOPING TRANSITIONAL MECHANISMS TO SUPPORT BUSINESSES AND FAMILIES ON THE FRONT LINES OF ECOLOGICAL, CLIMATE, AND POLICY CHANGE. BY EMPHASIZING EQUITY AND ECONOMIC STABILITY, WE GIVE COASTAL ENTREPRENEURS THE TOOLS TO FOSTER AND SUSTAIN RESILIENCE BOTH ON LAND AND AT SEA.
Economic and Marketing Development: The project provides clients with business technical assistance for multilingual market support, loan and grant programs, DUNS and SAM registration and renewal, computer literacy, Louisiana Wild Seafood Certification Program (LWSCP) training and registration, Marine Courses, Vessels Examination process and training, new technologies, and Coastal Restoration Awareness education and strategic planning. CCC works with disadvantaged refugees and immigrants to achieve U.S. Citizenship by providing service both fundamental to the application and examination processes. By doing so, our office has incorporated ESL (English as a Second Language) to run simultaneously with individuals seeking citizenship. Programs and trainings under this focus area enhance client businesses to generate income, maintain and increase the industry workforce, and expand pre-existing businesses.
SOCIAL SERVICES: THIS TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM PROVIDES COASTAL ENTREPRENEURS AND THEIR FAMILY MEMBERS WITH A WIDE RANGE OF SOCIAL SERVICES THAT IMPROVE THEIR QUALITY OF LIFE. THROUGH CCC TRANSLATION SERVICES, CLIENTS HAVE BEEN SUPPORTED WITH APPLICATIONS IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS: FOOD STAMPS (SNAP), IMMIGRATIONS, MEDICAID, MEDICARE, SOCIAL SECURITY, UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFITS, AND OTHERS. CCC PARTNERS WITH REGIONAL HEALTHCARE PROVIDERS, STATE AGENCIES, AND OTHER COMMUNITY BASE ORGANIZATIONS TO ASSIST CLIENTS ASSESS HEALTHCARE NEEDS. IN THESE SESSIONS, CLIENTS WERE GIVEN THE RESOURCES TO MAINTAIN THEIR LEGAL STATUS, HEALTH CARE COVERAGE, AND GOVERNMENTAL BENEFITS AND SERVICES.
BUSINESS TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE: The project provides small, socially disadvantaged producers with early business development, business and tax assessment, credit building, financial training, assistance with licensing, and permit applications. CCC has been able to assist disadvantaged businesses in areas including business formation, legal entity support, business licensing and permit and compliances, business banking, financial planning, and loan packaging. Programs under this focus area sustain current businesses, support start-ups, maintain and create new jobs, ensure business compliance with state and federal regulations, and provide fundamental business education for sustainability; more recently with a greater emphasis for adaptation and transition as economic and environmental impacts arise.
