THE ORGANIZATION (JKOMSF) CO-SPONSORED AND CO-ADMINISTERED A TWO-DAY CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION CONFERENCE (PEARLS VIII) APRIL 2019 IN NEW ORLEANS, LA ALONG WITH THE LOUISIANA SOCIETY OF ORAL AND MAXILLOFACIAL SURGEONS AND THE LSU ORAL AND MAXILLOFACIAL SURGERY ALUMNI ASSOCIATIONS. THE OMS PEARLS VIII CONFERENCE FEATURED FOUR PRACTITIONERS AND TWO HEALTH INDUSTRY EXPERTS AND PROVIDED 8.5 HOURS CDE/CME CREDITS. THERE WERE 74 REGISTERED PARTICIPANTS.THE JKOMSF ALSO CO-SPONSORED AND CO-ADMINISTERED THE 46TH ANNUAL LSU OMS REVIEW COURSE, A LIVE EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITY DESIGNED FOR OMS PRACTITIONERS AND LSU OMS RESIDENTS WHO DESIRE A COMPREHENSIVE REVIEW THAT FOCUSES ON ALL PHASES OF ORAL AND MAXILLOFACIAL SURGERY. THE 2019 LSU OMS FIVE DAY REVIEW COURSE, HELD NOVEMBER 4, 2019 THROUGH NOVEMBER 8, 2019 IN NEW ORLEANS LA, FEATURED MULTIPLE EDUCATOR AND PRACTITIONER SPEAKERS FOR 133 REGISTERED PARTICIPANTS.BOTH OF THESE EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES SEEK TO SUSTAIN AND ADVANCE THE LSU OMS PROGRAM BY ENRICHING AND SUPPORTING PRACTITIONER ALUMNI AND RESIDENT EDUCATION.
THE JKOMSF CONTRIBUTED $20,000 TO THE LSU HEALTH FOUNDATION NEW ORLEANS. THIS CONTRIBUTION WILL HELP THE SCHOOL OF DENTISTRY ENSURE CONTINUED SUCCESS IN EDUCATING TOMORROW'S HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS, PERFORMING CUTTING EDGE RESEARCH, DELIVERING EXCELLENT PATIENT CARE, AND ENGAGING THE COMMUNITY WITH OUTREACH PROGRAMS TO IMPROVE THE HEALTH OF LOUISIANA CITIZENS.
