ROOTED IN THE LOVING MINISTRY OF JESUS AS HEALER, WE PROVIDE A CONTINUUM OF COMPASSIONATE CARE IN AN ENVIRONMENT THAT EMPOWERS, EDUCATES AND NURTURES THE WHOLE PERSON. AS AN INTENTIONAL SPIRITUAL COMMUNITY WE DEDICATE OURSELVES TO PERSON-CENTERED, HOLISTIC CARE. CHATEAU DE NOTRE DAME OPERATES SKILLED NURSING FACILITIES WITH A TOTAL OF 469 DUALLY CERTIFIED MEDICARE AND MEDICAID BEDS. THE CHATEAU DE NOTRE DAME FACILITIES ("CHATEAU") IS LICENSED FOR 171 BEDS, THE WYNHOVEN HEALTHCARE FACILITY ("WYNHOVEN") IS LICENSED FOR 188 BEDS AND THE OUR LADY OF WISDOM HEALTHCARE FACILITY ("WISDOM") IS LICENSED FOR 138 BEDS. DURING THE YEAR, AN AVERAGE DAILY CENSUS OF 23.35 SKILLED PATIENTS AT THE CHATEAU FACILITY, 11.12 AT THE WYNHOVEN FACILITY, AND 8.10 AT THE WISDOM FACILITY RECEIVED PHYSICAL, OCCUPATIONAL, AND SPEECH REHABILITATION THERAPY AS PRESCRIBED FOR THE INDIVIDUAL PATIENT BY THE ATTENDING PHYSICIAN. CUSTODIAL CARE AND HOSPICE SERVICES ARE ALSO PROVIDED AT CHATEAU, WISDOM AND WYNHOVEN. BOTH FACILITIES OPERATE WITH THE BELIEF THAT REMAINING MENTALLY AND PHYSICALLY ACTIVE IS KEY TO MAXIMIZING QUALITY OF LIFE. AS SUCH, WE ENCOURAGE RESIDENTS TO TAKE PART IN THE MANY INDIVIDUAL AND GROUP ACTIVITIES OFFERED, RANGING FROM ARTS AND CRAFTS TO READING, GAMES, PARTIES, MOVIES, THE EVER-POPULAR BINGO, AND MORE. MOST IMPORTANTLY, HOWEVER, WE BELIEVE THAT THE MOST FULFILLED LIFE IS ONE STRENGTHENED BY FAITH, LIVED IN A SUPPORTIVE ENVIRONMENT BUILT ON STRONG SPIRITUAL FOUNDATIONS. AT THE FOREFRONT OF OUR MISSION, CHATEAU DE NOTRE DAME PROVIDES DEEP FAITH-BASED CARE TO ASSIST AND ENCOURAGE RESIDENTS OF ALL FAITHS ALONG THEIR OWN INDIVIDUAL JOURNEYS.
NOTRE DAME HOSPICE IS A MINISTRY OF THE ARCHDIOCESE OF NEW ORLEANS AND IS LICENSED TO PROVIDE HOSPICE SERVICES IN THREE DEFINED SERVICE AREAS: THE GREATER NEW ORLEANS AREA, THE MISSISSIPPI GULF COAST, AND GREATER BATON ROUGE. NOTRE DAME HOSPICE STRIVES TO PROVIDE QUALITY, COMPASSIONATE HEALTH CARE AND SUPPORT SERVICES IN A CHRISTIAN ENVIRONMENT, RESPECTING THE UNIQUENESS OF EACH PERSON, PROMOTING AND ENHANCING THE QUALITY OF LIFE, AND PRESERVING DIGNITY IN LIFE, ILLNESS AND DEATH. THE AVERAGE DAILY CENSUS FOR EACH OF THE SERVICE AREAS WAS: 138.38 FOR NOTRE DAME HOSPICE (GREATER NEW ORLEANS AREA), 33.44 FOR NOTRE DAME HOSPICE OF MISSISSIPPI, AND 16.20 FOR NOTRE DAME HOSPICE OF GREATER BATON ROUGE. WE BELIEVE IN THE SACREDNESS OF LIFE FROM CONCEPTION TO NATURAL DEATH, AND WE DEVOTE OURSELVES TO SUPPORTING PATIENTS AND FAMILIES THROUGH THE DYING PROCESS AT THE END OF LIFE'S JOURNEY ON THIS EARTH AND NEW LIFE IN ETERNITY.
CHATEAU DE NOTRE DAME OPERATES ASSISTED LIVING APARTMENTS. THE COMPLEX CONSISTS OF 100 APARTMENTS WHICH ARE RENTED UNDER PRIVATE PAY LEASE AGREEMENTS. THE AVERAGE DAILY CENSUS WAS 92.18 RESIDENTS FOR THE YEAR. THE APARTMENTS ARE SEPARATE FROM THE NURSING HOME BUT SHARE THE SAME CAMPUS. RESIDENTS ARE ABLE TO SELECT ASSISTED LIVING SERVICES AT VARYING LEVELS WHICH INCLUDE DINING, HOUSEKEEPING, BASIC MEDICATION PASS, AND PERSONAL CARE SERVICES. RESIDENTS ARE ALSO ABLE TO UTILIZE THE PHYSICAL, OCCUPATIONAL, AND SPEECH REHABILITATIVE THERAPIES THAT ARE OFFERED AT THE SKILLED NURSING FACILITY IF SUCH SERVICES ARE PRESCRIBED FOR RESIDENTS BY THEIR PERSONAL PHYSICIANS. AS WITH THE NURSING HOME PATIENTS, THE APARTMENT RESIDENTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE MANY INDIVIDUAL AND GROUP ACTIVITIES OFFERED AT THE APARTMENTS WHICH INCLUDE BINGO, GAMES, READING, PARTIES, MOVIES, VARIOUS OUTINGS AND ARTS AND CRAFTS. RESIDENTS ARE ALSO STRONGLY ENCOURAGED TO EXERCISE AND STRENGTHEN THEIR FAITH LIVES BY PARTICIPATING IN THE FACILITY'S SUPPORTIVE SPIRITUAL ENVIRONMENT WHICH IS DEEPLY ROOTED IN CATHOLIC FAITH AND TRADITION.
