HEAD START - Head Starts goal is to promote the school readiness of low-income children by enhancing their cognitive, physical and social/emotional development for children 3 and 4 years old. Through the provision of educational, health, nutritional, social and other services this program benefits enrolled children and families of six parishes in central Louisiana.
WORKFORCE INVESTMENT ACT PROGRAM - The purpose of the WIA program is to coordinate a range of job training programs for youth, adult, and dislocated workers. Services include adult education and literacy programs, welfare-to-work, vocational education, and vocational rehabilitation. WIAs goal is to provide workforce development services to employers and workers through a universally accessible, information-driven, one-stop career center system. WIA one-stop centers are operated in six central Louisiana parishes.
LOW INCOME HOME ENERGY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM - This program gives financial assitance to low-income families to reduce the burden of high home energy cost. The goal of this program is to assist eligible households to meet the cost of home energy for heating and cooling to clients who have suffered a loss due to circumstances beyond their control.
