Organizations Filed Purposes: Our mission is to provide crisis intervention, advocacy, counseling and education to all victims affected by sexual and domestic violence and to provide prevention programs to create a society free of personal abuse.

Rape and Abuse Crisis Center OverviewThe Rape and Abuse Crisis Center of Fargo-Moorhead (RACC) is committed to providing comprehensive services to victims of domestic / dating violence, sexual assault, elder abuse, trafficking / sexual exploitation and child sexual abuse and to transforming the community's response to violence and abuse by ensuring healing for those who have been victimized and personal safety for all. All victim services are free, confidential and available to all child, adolescent, adult and elder victims and their families. In 2018, RACC employed 58 individuals and was assisted by 199 total volunteers in serving 2,861 individuals.Program ServicesRACC Program Services is the overarching descriptor that covers all programming provided by supervisors, counselors and advocates. The program director is responsible for overseeing all programs and coordinates program development efforts. In addition to direct services, RACC is heavily involved in advancing the organization's mission by participating, often coordinating the community's response to interpersonal violence. In addition to orders for protection and assistance navigating the legal system, advocates are generally the first to respond to victims that seek emergency room services and address the immediate needs of those that come to the agency in crisis. Trauma-informed, evidence based individual and group therapy is available at no cost at the Rape and Abuse Crisis Center to help child and adult survivors heal. Counselors utilize multiple therapeutic models including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), Creativity and Art in Therapy and GLBTQ affirmative therapy to help adults who suffer from post-traumatic stress, anxiety, depression, panic, distressful memories / flashbacks, and other emotional effects of violence and abuse.
