To collect, display, and interpret artifacts relevant to the history and cultural heritage of Cass County and the Red River Valley.
The society maintains a historical site "Bonanzaville USA" located in West Fargo, North Dakota. The site includes a group of museum buildings, along with 36 of historical structures which have been relocated to the site. Activities include the discovery, collection and preservation of data, objects or memorabilia of historical value and the dissemination of information concerning the history of Cass County North Dakota and the state of North Dakota. In 2019, Bonanzaville had 19,000 visitors, 5,400 of which were school children and teachers from the region as part of local history curriculum. Bonanzaville had several events during the year, including Pioneer Days, 4th of July celebration, and Christmas on the Prairie. In addition, Bonanzaville has a rotating exhibit gallery which provides new exhibits annually.
