The mission of the Building Owners and Managers Association of Southern Nevada is to enhance the human, intellectual and physical assets of the commercial real estate industry through advocacy, education, research standards and information.
BOMA Nevada supports its members with local networking partnerships, industry advocacy and educational courses. Members also receive the following:1) Monthly breakfast featuring industry experts, trend forecasters and community notables. 2) Stimulate their excellence in building management, value enhancement, operational efficiencies, vendor services, tenant retention, emergency planning and environmental/community impact.3) Peer support and information sharing in a professional environment. 4) Unparalleled networking and partnership opportunities with other real estate professionals.
Monthly Luncheons: Our monthly luncheons exist for both educational and networking purposes, allowing our members to learn from a carefully selected variety of knowledgeable speakers on current issues and topics relevant to the industry. We held 11 in 2019. BOMA Annual Toby Awards January 26, 2019: The Outstanding Building of the Year (TOBY) Awards is the most prestigious and comprehensive program of its kind in the commercial real estate industry recognizing quality in commercial buildings and rewarding excellence in building management. During the competition, all facets of a building's operations are thoroughly evaluated. Buildings are judged on everything from community involvement, tenant relations and site management to environmental and "green" policies and procedures. The competition consists of three levels and begins at the BOMA local association level. Winning entries advance from there to the regional level and, finally, regional winners advance to the international level. The international TOBY Awards are presented at the BOMA International Conference in June each year. Community Outreach: June: Partnered with IREM to help at the Refuge for Women Safe House with some administrative tasks. We also held a Golf Tournament on Oct 24, 2019, held at Spanish Trails Golf Course where a portion of the proceeds benefitted Refuge for Women and The Shade Tree.Education: BOMI is the most widely recognized and respected learning provider in the industry. Their credential programs provide skills needed to enhance our members careers. We held 4 BOMI accredited classes in 2019. In addition, we held a Lunch and Learn on shopping for Insurance which offered general real estate continuing education credits. Networking Mixers: We organized at two member only mixers each year allowing members to networking in a less formal setting to encourage team building within our organization.
