Organizations Filed Purposes:
FOUNDATION FOR RECOVERY PROMOTES THE POSITIVE IMPACT OF RECOVERY FROM ADDICTION, BEHAVIORAL HEALTH AND CO-OCCURRING DISORDERS IN OUR COMMUNITIES AND ENHANCES THE LIVES OF INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES AFFECTED BY THE DISEASE OF ADDICTION. OUR PROGRAMS AND PARTNERSHIPS OPEN PATHWAYS TO RECOVERY BY REMOVING SOCIAL BARRIERS AND CREATING OPPORTUNITIES FOR THOSE SEEKING AND MAINTAINING LONG-TERM RECOVERY.
TO PROMOTE THE POSITIVE IMPACT OF RECOVERY FROM ADDICTION, BEHAVIORAL HEALTH AND CO-OCCURRING DISORDERS IN OUR COMMUNITIES AND TO ENHANCE THE LIVES OF INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES AFFECTED BY THE DISEASE OF ADDICTION.
FFR OFFERS EVIDENCED-BASED PEER RECOVERY SUPPORT SERVICES, INCLUDING ONE-ON-ONE SUPPORT, TELEPHONE-BASED SUPPORT, MUTUAL-AID SUPPORT GROUPS, LIFE SKILLS CLASSES, AND PRO-SOCIAL ACTIVITIES. THE PROGRAM'S FOUNDATION IS THE VALUE OF THE LIVED EXPERIENCE OF PEERS TO ASSIST OTHERS IN ACHIEVING AND MAINTAINING RECOVERY. SERVICES ARE DESIGNED AND DELIVERED BY PEER RECOVERY SUPPORT SPECIALISTS (PRSS) WHO ARE PROPERLY TRAINED THROUGH A 46-HOUR CURRICULUM RECOGNIZED BY THE NEVADA CERTIFICATION BOARD AND HAVE TWO OR MORE YEARS IN LONG-TERM RECOVERY. ADDITIONALLY, TO PREPARE NEVADANS TO SERVE IN THE PRSS ROLE, FFR OFFERS PEER RECOVERY SUPPORT SPECIALIST TRAINING PROGRAM FOR THOSE WITH LIVED EXPERIENCE WHO WANT TO MENTOR OTHERS THAT ARE SEEKING LONG-TERM RECOVERY FROM SUBSTANCE USE AND/OR MENTAL HEALTH DISORDERS. FFR ALSO OFFERS CONTINUING EDUCATION CLASSES NEEDED TO RENEW CERTIFICATION WITH NV CERTIFICATION BOARD AFTER TWO YEARS. THROUGH VARIOUS INITIATIVES AND OUR RECOVERY COMMUNITY CENTERS, WE PROVIDED DIRECT PEER SUPPORT TO 370 INDIVIDUALS IN 2019 AND OUR MUTUAL-AID MEETING ROOMS WELCOMED OVER 29,000 ATTENDEES.NUMBER OF PEOPLE RECEIVING PEER RECOVERY SUPPORT SERVICES ANNUALLY: 370NUMBER OF PEOPLE TRAINED ANNUALLY: 70
NEVADA RECOVERY NETWORK PROJECT PROMOTES, SUPPORTS AND ENHANCES ADDICTION AND MENTAL HEALTH RECOVERY COMMUNITY AND PEER RECOVERY SUPPORT ORGANIZATIONS AND SERVICES THROUGHOUT NEVADA. THE FIRST OF ITS KIND IN NEVADA, THE NETWORK HAS WORKED TO ADDRESS THE ABSENCE OF THE PEER VOICE IN OUR BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SERVICE SYSTEMS, EDUCATE RECOVERY STAKEHOLDER ORGANIZATIONS AND PEERS ON HOW TO DEVELOP BEST PRACTICES AND POLICIES; AND RECOGNIZE THE ROLE OF PEER RECOVERY SUPPORT SERVICES IS STRENGTHENING THE RECOVERY-ORIENTED SYSTEM OF CARE (ROSC) IN NEVADA. IN 2019, THE NEVADA RECOVERY NETWORK PROJECT TRAINED AND ENGAGED 687 INDIVIDUALS AND PARTNERS, PRODUCED A NEW EDITION OF THE STATEWIDE RECOVERY RESOURCE DIRECTORY, AND DEVELOPED AN EMPLOYER TOOLKIT FOR IMPLEMENTING PEER RECOVERY SUPPORT SERVICES.THE NUMBER OF INDIVIDUALS AND ORGANIZATIONS ENGAGED: 687
IN 2019, FOUNDATION FOR RECOVERY RECEIVED GRANT FUNDING FROM NEVADA SUBSTANCE ABUSE PREVENTION AND TREATMENT AGENCY (SAPTA) TO IMPLEMENT A RECOVERY-FRIENDLY WORKPLACE INITIATIVE AS A CONTINUATION OF THE RECOVERY-FRIENDLY WORKPLACE TOOLKIT AND WORK OF GOVERNOR'S SANDOVAL'S OFFICE IN FALL OF 2018. THIS INITIATIVE SEEKS TO IMPROVE WORKPLACES BY REDUCING THE STIGMA OF SUBSTANCE USE AND ENCOURAGES WORKPLACES TO SUPPORT TREATMENT AND RECOVERY. EMPLOYERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO EDUCATE THEIR STAFF ON SUBSTANCE USE AND RECOVERY; DEVELOP POLICIES AND PROCEDURES TO SUPPORT RECOVERY OF EMPLOYEES; AND SUPPORT EMPLOYEES WHO ARE CARING FOR FAMILY MEMBER(S) IMPACTED BY SUBSTANCE USE.
