Organizations Filed Purposes:
The mission of Gentlemen By Choice is to develop tomorrow's leaders today through Leadership, Image, Financial Management and Etiquette (L.I.F.E.) training to at risk youth. This is accomplished through the implication of evidenced based curriculum and collaboration with several programs, including but not limitied to: Ty's Place, GBC, Teaching and Uniting Ladies to Inspire Positive Sucess (T.U.L.I.P.S.), Save Our Sons (S.O.S.) and CARE Coaltition.
Ty's Place - A Safe Space for Teens - Served as a home for youth Personal Development and Leadership programs; servicing over 2,500 youth over a span of 1,269 program hours with the support of 289 volunteer hours. 2,012 of the youth served were assigned to a mentoring organization. Leadership and mentoring services focused on a ranges of life issues; sex trafficking, promotion of healthy lifestyles, civic engagement and restorative justice practices and served as an impetus for increased awareness into youth assuming personal responsibility and accountability in navigating life's challenges. Guided instruction in a safe space combined with positive adult interaction fostered the delivery of Leadership Development, Tutoring/STEM, College Readiness, direct mentoring and Professional Development support.
Gentlemen By Choice - Provide youth Personal Development and Leadership services to 130 students from six schools in underserved communities. The program teaches basic leadership, image, financial literacy and etiquette (L.I.F.E.) training to at-risk youth. The program concluded with its annual 1-day celebratory Black and White Gala designed to recognize and acknowledge youth and their families for completion of the program. Volunteers contributed over 60 hours to program efforts.
Care Coalition - Supported Gentlemen By Choice's Summer Enrichment Academy (SEA). The SEA helped reduce and mitigate the loss of math and reading proficiency skills for 15 youth over the summer break. Care Coalition's contributions supported the program's technological needs and facilitated additional program costs. Volunteers contributed over 400 hours to program efforts.
