Organizations Filed Purposes: OUR MEMBERSHIP IS UNITED IN PURSUIT OF IMMEDIATE AND CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENTS TO THE STATE'S EDUCATION SYSTEM. WE SUPPORT AN AMBITIOUS, AGRESSIVE AND COMPREHENSIVE REFORM AGENDA TO DRAMATICALLY INCREASE THE COLLEGE AND WORKFORCE READINESS OF ALL STUDENTS, AND NOW IS THE TIME FOR BOLD AND DECISIVE ACTION. OUR ACTIONS AND TACTICS ARE FOCUSED IN THREE AREAS: (1) INFORM THE BUSINESS COMMUNITY OF THE EDUCATION CRISIS AND OPPORTUNITIES TO REFORM THE SYSTEM; (2) INFLUENCE THE STATE'S EDUCATION AGENDA AND CREATE THE CONDITIONS FOR STATEWIDE REFORM BY LEVERAGING THE POWER OF THE BUSINESS COMMUNITY; AND, (3) IMPROVE PUBLIC EDUCATION SYSTEMS BY INFUSING A BUSINESS-LIKE APPROACH TO EDUCATION REFORM.

NEVADA SUCCEEDS IS A NONPROFIT, NONPARTISAN COALITION OF BUSIENSS LEADERS COMMITTED TO IMPROVING THE STATE'S EDUCATION SYSTEM. WE USE POLICY AND ADVOCACY TO ADVANCE BEST PRACTICES, AND OUR GOAL IS TO ENSURE NEVADA'S P20 EDUCATION SYSTEM PROVIDE STUDENTS WITH THE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND BEHAVIORS THEY NEED TO SUCCEED IN THE COMPETITIVE GLOBAL ECONOMY.

EDUCATING ELECTED OFFICIALS AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS ABOUT WHAT POLICIES AND TYPES OF POLICIES CONSISTENLY PRODUCE HIGH STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT INTERNATIONALLY AND ON THE PISA EXAM.DEVELOP POLICY RECOMMENDATIONS BASED ON WHAT OECD RECOMMENDS FOR HIGH PERFORMING SCHOOL SYSTEMS. EIGHT OF NEVADA SUCCEEDS POLICY RECOMMENDATIONS WERE ADVANCED IN THE 2018 NEVADA LEGISLATIVE INTERIM COMMITTEE, RESULTING IN TWO BILL DRAFT REQUESTS.HOLDING EVENTS SO ELECTED/CIVIC LEADERS & EDUCATION COMMUNITY CAN LISTEN TO WORLD-CLASS EDUCATION EXPERTS ON THE ISSUES IMPACTING THE TEACHING PROFESSION AND INDIVIDUAL CLASSROOM EXPERIENCE.

FOSTERING DIALOGUE BETWEEN EDUCATION & BUSINESS COMMUNITIES, HELPING EACH SIDE UNDERSTAND THE NEEDS OF THE OTHER.CONTINUE TO GUIDE WORK ON THE 3 SYSTEMIC REFORMS IDENTIFIED BY OUR WHAT'S NEXT NEVADA? PROJECT: SCHOOL LEADERSHIP; MEANINGFUL CAREER PROGRESSION FOR TEACHERS; IMPROVING SCHOOL CLIMATE & CULTURE WHILE CONTEXTUALIZING ALL RECOMMENDATIONS AND SURROUNDING WORK IN THE CONTEXT OF EFFECTIVE GLOBAL STANDARDS FOR TEACHERS AND STUDENTS.FACILITATE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT TRAINING FOR TEACHERS AND OTHER EDUCATION PROFESSIONALS ABOUT HOW TO EFFECTIVELY ENGAGE IN POLICY DECISIONS IMPACTING THEIR PROFESSION.
